Aujourd'hui je vais donc vous parlez de mon amour pour le velours.
Souvent, cette matière est associée aux personnes âgées. Et oui! Ne me dites pas que vous n'avez jamais vu un homme d'un certain âge avec un pantalon en velours? La plupart du temps, ils sont même de couleur verte, jaune, marron ou orange. En tout cas, moi, quand je vois quelqu'un avec du velours, peut importe son âge, je trouve ça BEAU! Je ne sais pas à quand remonte cet amour pour ce tissu et ni même si je l'ai un jour "non aimé". Dans tous les cas, le velours et moi c'est plus qu'une simple amourette (non je ne suis pas folle, j'ai juste une relation particulière avec mes vêtements -maintenant j'ai l'air encore plus atteinte ahah-).

Today I will talk about my love for the velvet. 
Often this material is associated with the elderly people. Do not tell me you've never seen a man of a certain age with velvet trousers? Most of the time, they are even green, yellow, brown or orange. In any case, for me, when I see someone with velvet, no matter his age, I think it's BEAUTIFUL! 
I do not know when this love for this fabric came or even if I one day didn't love it. In all cases, velvet and me is more than just a passing love story (no I'm not crazy, I just have a special relationship with my clothes -now I look even more lunatic- haha) .

Ces derniers temps, je ne sais pas si vous l'avez remarqué mais, le velours est revenu à la mode. J'ai été d'ailleurs assez étonnée d'en voir autant dans les magasins (enfin, entre vous et moi je ne vais pas m'en plaindre!).

Lately, I do not know if you noticed, but the velvet is back in fashion. I was actually quite surprised to see it in so many stores (well, between you and me I'm not going to complain!).

J'ai fait quelques recherches sur le velours pour écrire cet article et je tenais à partager mes découvertes donc voici, rien que pour vous chers lecteurs, la petite histoire du velours en quelques points :

I did some research on velvet to write this article and I wanted to share my findings, so here, just for you dear readers, the story of velvet in a few points:

- Le velours est la partie rasée d'une fourrure ou d'un tissu.

- Velvet is the shaved fur or tissue part. 

- On peut fabriquer du velours à partir de coton, de soie, de laine ou de fibres synthétiques.

- It can be made from cotton, silk, wool or synthetic fibers.

- Il existe deux sortes de velours :

1.le velours coupé ou velours chaîne

2.le velours trame qui donne un velours dit côtelé.

- There are two kinds of velvet 

1.cut velvet or velor chain; 

2.the velvet frame that gives a velvet corduroy said.

- Le velours est une étoffe qui a traversé les siècles. Par exemple, les tenues d’apparat de François Ier étaient en velours tout comme les redingotes des bourgeois et enfin le pantalon largeot des ouvriers au XIXe siècle. (En gros il est venu s'implanter un peu partout, malin le velours je vous le dis ahah).

- The velvet is a fabric that has survived the centuries. For example, ceremonial outfits of Francois I were made with velvet. So were the frock bourgeois and finally the largeot pants for workers in the nineteenth century.

- Le velours nous vient d’Orient. Il s'est d'abord répandu dans les grandes villes italiennes comme Gênes, Venise, Milan et Florence au XIVe siècle et est très vite devenue l'étoffe la plus luxueuse de l’époque pour la lenteur de son tissage mais aussi et surtout sa douceur(et c'est d'ailleurs une des raisons pour lesquelles j'affectionne particulièrement ce tissu). Alors que certaines personnes trouvent justement la sensation au toucher du velours "bizarre" d'autres personnes (comme moi) la trouve particulièrement agréable.

- Velvet comes from the East. It was first distributed in major Italian cities like Genoa, Venice, Milan and Florence in the fourteenth century and quickly became the most luxurious fabric for its slow weaving but especially his stuff smooth (and it is also one of the reasons why I particularly it). While some people find just the feel of velvet "weird", others (like me) find it particularly enjoyable.

- On dit que le velours a un aspect velouté (j'aime bien ce mot pas vous?).

- It is said that velvet has a velvety appearance (I like that word do not you?).

- Le velours est chaud et solide.

- The velvet is warm and solid.

- Le velours peut être utilisé dans la décoration d'intérieur, l'ameublement.

- Velvet can be used in interior decoration, furniture.

- Dernière petite information : Les noces de velours symbolisent les 29 ans de mariage dans le folklore français.

- Last bit of information: The wedding velvet symbolize the 29 years of marriage in French folklore.

Maintenant que vous êtes un peu plus au courant sur ce charmant tissu, laissez moi vous montrez différentes manières de le porter. 

Now that you're a little more aware about this charming fabric, let me show you different ways to wear it.

Alors oui, cette tenue est très rose mais c'est joli le rose surtout celui là non?? Bon que dire sur cette tenue? Tout d'abord, je pourrais par commencer par la robe qui est quand même le centre d'attention. En forme patineuse (j'ai d'ailleurs eu le droit à la remarque "tu vas à la patinoire dans cette tenue?"), assez courte et aux manches longues, j'en suis tombée amoureuse (je tombe souvent amoureuse à lire mon blog: un vrai coeur d'artichaut!) à l'instant où je l'ai enfilé. Pour ce qui est des chaussures, j'ai craqué quand je les ai vu sur internet et en plus elles allaient parfaitement avec la robe que j'avais déjà.

So yes, this outfit is very pink but it's a pretty pink especially this one don't you think? Now what can I say about this outfit? Firstly, I could start with the dress which is the center of attention. It's a skater dress, rather short and with long sleeves, I fell in love with it at the moment I slipped in it!. Regarding the shoes, I cracked when I saw them on the internet and in addition they go perfectly with the dress.

Portée avec des talons hauts (en velours) et un masque pour le côté mystérieux, cette robe est parfaite pour sortir en soirée ou pour un évènement particulier. 

Worn with high heels (velvet ones) and a mask to get a bit of a mysterious side, this dress is perfect for a night out or for a particular event.

Shorts : TOPSHOP

Boots : Vintage

Dans un style un peu gothique et une autre couleur, ici le velours n'est plus au centre de la tenue comme avec les robes dans les tenue 1 et 2, mais apporte une jolie touche à l'ensemble. 

In a slightly gothic style and another color, here the velvet is no longer the center of attention of this outfit as it was with the dresses in the outfits 1 and 2, but it brings a nice touch to the whole.

I chose this song because in this article Scotland is the star and not only the singer is Scottish, but he's also a very talented artist who's unfortunately not very known (in France I mean, I don't know for the rest of the world). If you already know him that's great and if not, good discovery!

Aujourd'hui, je vais vous parler d'une des modes du moment : le motif écossais autrement dit le tartan.
Il y a deux mois (déjà?!) j'avais déjà craqué sur une jupe de chez Forever 21 au motif écossais.

Today I'll tell you about one of "must have" of the moment: tartan. 
Two months ago (already!) I had a crush on a plaid skirt and some shorts from Forever 21 and an overall from Zara.

Quand je suis allée à Rome en janvier, j'ai de nouveau craqué sur une pièce au motif écossais mais cette fois-ci c'était un pantalon. Je suis donc, comme toutes les autres, tombée sous le charme du tartan et c'est pour cette raison que j'écris un article dessus ahah.

When I went to Rome in January, I again fell for a plaid clothing but this time it was pants.
So I, like the others, fell under the spell of tartan and it is for this reason that I write an article on it haha.

Avant de vous montrer le look que j'ai fait avec ce pantalon, voici la petite histoire de ce motif nous venant d'Ecosse : Le tartan est une étoffe de laine à carreaux de couleurs, typique des peuples celtes. Il s'agit d'un motif de lignes horizontales et verticales entrecroisées, de multiples couleurs (souvent dans les tons rouges, bleus, verts, jaunes). 

Before I show you the look I did with these pants, here's the story behind tartan: Tartans are originated in woven wool (now they are also made in many other materials). Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours (often in shades of red, blue, green, yellow).

Les fameux kilts écossais, que tout le monde connait, sont ainsi quasiment toujours réalisés dans un tissu à motif de tartan. Le tartan est aussi appelé plaid en Amérique du Nord, mais, en Écosse, ce mot désigne la couleur et le motif du tissu tartan jeté sur l’épaule, ou une couverture.

The famous Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. Tartan is often called plaid in North America, but in Scotland, a plaid is a tartan cloth slung over the shoulder as a kilt accessory, or a plain ordinary blanket such as one would have on a bed.

Toutes le porte différemment : Emma Watson associe sa robe avec une veste en cuir, ce qui a pour effet de rendre sa tenue plus rock, Katy Perry opte pour un look un peu vintage avec ses chaussures et sa coiffure mais apporte une touche de modernité avec ses créoles aux oreilles, Rihanna se la joue un peu punk avec ses collants troués et enfin Kate choisi plutôt le parti pris de l'élégance avec un manteau (à gauche) et un ensemble (à droite).

Ce que j'ai vraiment aimé chez ce pantalon c'est :

1. les couleurs (bordeaux, noir et blanc)

2. la matière qui est très fine, légère et pas rigide comme peut l'être la laine

3. la forme/coupe

What I really liked about these pants are: 

1. the colors (burgundy, black and white) 

2. the material which is very thin, light and not rigid as can be wool 

3. the form/cut

J'ai décidé de la jouer un peu garçon manqué tout en gardant une touche féminine avec le chapeau et le poncho. Un look donc très différent du premier que j'avais shooté il y a deux mois.

I've decided to play with the "garcon manqué" side while keeping a feminine touch with my hat and poncho. A look very different from the first that I shot two months ago.

J'ai choisi cette chanson parce qu'elle raconte l'histoire (plutôt très drôle) d'une fille qui se venge de son ex copain; étant donné le sujet de l'article vous allez vite comprendre pourquoi j'ai fait ce choix. Et puis c'est une chanson que j'adore et qui se colle bien sur ma tenue selon moi.

I chose this song because it tells the story (rather hilarious) about a girl who takes revenge on her ex boyfriend; given the subject of the article you'll quickly understand why I made this choice. And it's also a song that I love and that, I believe, fits well with my outfit.

Aujourd'hui une tenue un peu différente de celles que j'ai l'habitude de porter.
Et oui, à l'honneur dans cet article, le "jean boyfriend": LA pièce qu'il faut avoir dans son placard.

Today an outfit which is a little different from what I usually wear. 
And yes, in this article, the boyfriend jeans are the star. The boyfriend jeans, that is to say, THE piece to have in your closet.

La petite histoire de mon jean boyfriend : je l'ai acheté il y a plusieurs années déjà (j'étais encore au collège vous imaginez?). A cette époque (c'était pas si loin non plus mais bon ça sonne bien non?), à cette époque donc, je n'osais pas encore porter les vêtements qui me plaisaient vraiment, de peur de me faire juger et aussi parce que, à cet âge là, bah on est un peu des "moutons", on a tous le même style et on veut pas sortir du lot (bien que j'ai toujours été le vilain petit canard). Cette année là, j'ai voulu essayé quelque chose de nouveau et c'est tombé sur le jean boyfriend. Je me souviens encore de la tête de mes camarades, moi qui m'habillais tout en violet (j'ai eu ma période) et plus féminine que mes amies, j'ai eu le droit à beaucoup de questions/remarques sur ce choix audacieux. Pour tout vous dire, je crois que je l'ai mis une fois, cette seule fois, et ensuite il est resté plié dans mon armoire jusqu'à maintenant, où j'ai décidé de lui offrir une nouvelle vie.

The story behind my boyfriend jeans : I bought them several years ago (I was still in secondary school can you imagine ?). At that time I did not dare to wear the clothes that really appealed to me, because I was afraid and also because, at that age, everybody is like a little "sheep", we all have the same style and we do not want to stand out (although I've always been the ugly duck). This year, I wanted to try something new and it fell on the boyfriend jeans.  I still remember the face of my comrades, I, the same girl who was always dressed in purple and very feminine, was wearing jeans, BOYFRIEND jeans. Everybody asked me a lot questions and made me comments about this bold choice. To be honest , I think I wore these jeans once, only this time, and then they remained folded in my wardrobe until now. 

Le jean boyfriend, c'est celui qu'on enfile en deux minutes et qui peut nous rendre "stylée" en un clin d'oeil. Mais encore faut-il savoir le porter.

Boyfriend jeans, are the ones we put in two minutes and that can make us "stylish" in a wink. But you still need to know how wear to them.

Et justement, comment le porter? C'est la question qu'on se pose toutes.

Depuis que j'ai acheté ces collants je ne m'en lasse pas, au contraire j'en suis toujours aussi folle.

J'ai l'impression que lorsque je les enfile, je suis déjà habillée. Ils sont tellement beaux (je vous le dis, j'en suis vraiment amoureuse ahah). En plus, pour une fois, ils sont parfaitement à ma taille. Oui! Parce que les grandes, comme moi, elles ont souvent des problèmes pour trouver des collants. Mais maintenant c'est fini avec les collants de chez Forever 21 (on dirait que je suis une actrice qui récite son texte pour une pub), je n'ai plus besoin d'avoir recours à ma méthode de grand-mère (je vous l'avoue, je vous l'avoue pas?) Je vous l'avoue : ma méthode pour quand vous avez un collant trop petit, c'est d'enfiler une culotte par dessus et comme ça il ne tombe plus. Pas très sexy ça c'est sur mais bon c'est pratique; parce qu'on sait toutes ce que c'est d'avoir un collant qui descend 150 fois par jour : c'est carrément pénible! Le petit conseil d'une pro : choisissez plutôt une culotte noire, ou, si vous avez, une culotte de la couleur de votre collant. Bref, (qu'est ce que je suis bavarde c'est fou), je crois que vous l'aurez compris : j'aime ces collants. D'ailleurs, je les ai même acheté en blanc NAH! (le look avec les collants blanc: ici). 

Since the day I bought these tights I can not get tired of them, on the contrary I 'm still crazy about them. When I put them on , it's like I'm already dressed. They are so beautiful (I'm telling you , I really love them haha). In addition, for once, they are perfect for my size. Yes ! Because girls like me (tall) often have trouble finding tights. But now it is finished, because thanks Forever 21 ( it looks like I 'm an actress who recites his text for a pub), I no longer need to use my grandmother methode (should I confess to you this method or not?) I confess : my method when you have tights that aren't long enough, you just have to put panties over them and so they no longer falls. Not very sexy that's for sure but it is good practice because we girls all know what that is to have tights getting down 150 times a day, it's very annoying! The tip of a pro: you should choose black panties , or if you have it, panties which are the same color of your tights. In short, (I'm so chatty sorry), I think you already understood: I love these tights. In fact, I even bought in white NAH ! ( the look with white tights : here).

Maintenant que j'en ai fini avec les collants, je passe à la robe (bah oui, on peut pas passer à côté, voyons!). Le détail, si vous l'avez remarqué, c'est les boutons dans le dos. Ils font toute l'originalité de la robe. Bon par contre, je vous l'avoue, quand on s'asseoit c'est pas forcément super agréable mais bon "il faut pour souffrir pour être belle" non?

Now that I'm done with tights, I'll talk about the dress (yeah, we can not miss it, of course!). The detail, if you have noticed, are the buttons in the back. They made all the originality of the dress. Not very comfortable when you sit on a chair, I confess, but "you have to suffer to be beautiful" right?

Bon, pour les accessoires (chapeau, gants) pas grand chose à dire à part qu'ils s'accordent aux collants et qu'ils sont magnifiques ahah (oui, j'aime mes vêtements).

Now about the accessories (hat, gloves) there's not much to say except that they go well with the tights and they are beautiful haha (yes, I like my clothes).

Et enfin, le sac que j'ai trouvé chez Forever 21 (cette boutique est vraiment incroyable) est simple mais pratique, parce que grand et parce qu'il va avec tout.

And finally, the bag which I found at Forever 21 (this store is really amazing) is simple but practical, because it's large and because it goes with everything.

Pour cette dernière matinée ensemble, Raphaëlle et moi sommes allées faire un tour au Gianicolo, qui est la huitième colline de Rome mais aussi un des endroits d'où l'on peut profiter d'une vue panoramique sur la capitale. 

For this last morning together, Raphaelle and I went for a walk in the Gianicolo, which is the eighth hill of Rome, but also one of the places where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the capital.

Nous avons donc fait la "passeggiata del Gianicolo"  (promenade du Janicule) et par conséquent, marché sur les pas de Chateaubriand, Stendhal et Zola, qui autrefois s'y baladaient.

So we made the "passeggiata del Gianicolo" (Janiculum walk) and therefore walked on the steps of Chateaubriand, Stendhal and Zola, who once strolled there. 

Le soleil n'était pas avec nous malheureusement donc je n'ai pas beaucoup de photos à vous montrer mais en voilà quelques-unes :

Le Gianicolo est aussi célèbre parce que c'est là qu'ont eu lieu

 de violents affrontements pendant l'unification italienne.

De retour à l'hôtel vers 11h, nous avons passé une petite heure dans notre chambre à regarder des vidéos, nous prendre nous-même en vidéo, et nous raconter ce que nous avions préféré de notre séjour. 

Après le check out, nous sommes allées Piazza Trilussa, où Raphaëlle a pris un taxi à 12h mais aussi là où j'ai attendu plus de 45 minutes mon oncle seule ahah. C'était très drôle mes amis (vous sentez l'ironie ou pas?)
